The Power Ball contains a gyroscope which is essentially a precision balanced
spinning mass. A gyroscope wants to stay spinning in the same plane and resists any force that tries to move it by obeying the law of conservation of angular momentum. A
force that does move the gyroscope causes it to precess in a direction at right angles to the opposing force.
